After a 2 year wait, dwarf orinoco started to flower!
I have been growing a dwarf orinoco for around 2 years in a 15 gallon container. It has finally started to flower. I only took two pictures (using my gf's camera), I am going to update with better pictures with my camera this weekend. The banana tree is a tattered looking, but it seems to be happy enough to flower .

Will keep everyone updated on the progress. I am going to ramp up the fertilizer schedule as well.

Re: After a 2 year wait, dwarf orinoco started to flower!
Here is a update picture of the plant. I see bananas now .
I am surprised the tree is holding up this well, despite its restricted root zone (15gal). I am very curious to see if the bananas produced are close to full size of an in ground Dwarf Orinoco. |

Re: After a 2 year wait, dwarf orinoco started to flower!
Looking GOOD! I hope you get many fruits, keep us updated. 15gal pot seems small for a banana of that size.

Re: After a 2 year wait, dwarf orinoco started to flower!
Wow nice mine bloomed while it was in storage this winter when I went to put it back in the ground I saw the bloom and all the little naners on it broke my heart.
