Default Will they survive the basement?

Hi, So I cut the leaves except for the newest growing one an took them outta their pots an layed em in the basement to dry out an go dormant until spring but I just checked them after about 10 days an the two smallest ones are getting soft/flimsy an wrinkly! Were they too young to do this with or did I not do something right? They are a yr an a half give or take.

Hello from ohio. What kind of banana are you talking about?
If your talking about a Cavendish the don't survive the bare root trick. You sad it's putting out a new leave that might not be good because it using up all it's energy in the corm then it will probably die. You might have to cut some off the top off & repot with a dry potting soil with a lot of vermiculite. Try growing it again but watch the watering.
