Default Why won't this thing grow?

I have a Dwarf Cavendish I bought from Lowe's and planted sometime in Feb of 2015. I took these two pics of it today, May 2 2016. The main plant died and these are water pups it had before dying. (The main plant was never more than a foot tall or so.) A week ago or so we were eating bananas off the Brazilian I planted at the same time. (Which I treated the same.)
I was told here a few weeks ago I was possibly overwatering, so I cut way back, and the problem persists. After making 3-4 leaves, the old ones die off, and the plant does not grow. I have two pics, one of the front, another from behind. I know I should simply remove it and replant, but it keeps trying, and I just don't have the heart. Even if I do dig it and plant another, what if it's some disease, and the other gets it? Stumped here.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

I bought a DC around the same time at Lowes; I chose it because it had a pup. I'm glad I did because the main stalk died--leaves were green and healthy looking but the base was rotten. I've since given away a couple of pups but what I have left is not very happy and isn't growing either. In all fairness, I haven't been particularly kind to her but it does make you wonder.

I got this one as it had 2 pups... Was green and healthy looking, but soon after planting, the grow a leaf, die a leaf thing began. It always had one new leaf, two green ones, and one dying. Been like that over a year. I even replanted it in a different place, hoping it would help... nope.
It has looked basically like this for months. It keeps growing leaves, but older ones die off and it never gets taller.

I wish I knew the answer to this. I had a similar problem last year on a couple of my bananas. It put out leaves fairly fast, nice and healthy green, only for older ones to die off, and barely got any height.

It has grown several new leaves and several old ones died away and it looks pretty much the same... Nobody has a clue? Really?

My dwarf cavendish is the hardiest banana I have. I have grown them in many condition dry sand, leaf piles, by ponds, in ponds, and pots. Least cold hardy of all my bananas but when it grows it grows and multiplies.

Maybe poor cultured plant. I blame that on my raja puri doing so bad. My new raja puri already out performs it.

That's probably the issue. Try a new plant.

I would look for a plant with no pups. If it's sending pups there may be a problem with the main plant.

The main plant died 3-4 months ago. All that is left are these water suckers. It seems to me that they should eventually get going, since I still care for them some, but they just grow a leaf, lose a leaf...
They are in the place I have left for something else, as soon as I figure out the variety I want... I hate killing them, as they are still trying to grow, but they are taking up valuable space where I could grow something else. I will plant them in the canal behind my house where they let it grow in case they decide to grow someday... At least that gives them a chance...
I think I want to plant 3640, but the taste police are split on them, either you love em or hate em. I think there must be two different ones going around posing as 3640, one is the real deal, and one is not, but I need to taste test before planting. I already have an unknown plant, 2 namwahs and a GM which I have never tasted any of before.. Don't want to take up any more room on stuff I don't even know if I like.
