Looks like a little wind burn or cooler night temps. But on the bright side, the new leaf looks good. Remember, the emerging leaf is affected by what happened a week or two before. So everything should be ok as long as they have the right amount of water. The tendency to is water, water, water when we see brown leaves. Resist that and feel the soil. If it has moisture and the dirt sticks to your finger, it does not need more water.
Keep an eye on the emerging leaf. If it begins to yellow or brown, it could mean that there is something else going on. Check for aphids or mites, etc. Check to be sure that you are giving it fertilizer in the proper proportions 20-5-30 and that it has the proper pH and micronutrients.

I would just say to watch it for a week and see how the new leaf does.

I am pretty new ,well I have been going bananas for a couple of years.
Last year Before I put them outside I put a couple in a pot ,to start them a
little sooner. They had got a couple of leaves and when I put them out for the
first time that's what happened to mine . I think they have to get used to it outside . But I left them alone and they came back fine. I don't know if that is the case with yours. But it looks just like mine.

if u had that banana in the house then stuck it out side it would either be sun burn or if really windy could be wind burn like chironex said either way it will be fine just put it in a shadyer spot for a while or only give it mourning sun

or did you spray them with something while they were in very bright light like full sun? Or do you have spider mites real bad, or did you have them and then treat the plant for it? Surely you didn't set it outside already in Wisconsin?

Thank you SO much for all your replies...I believe it's sunburn since it's been confirmed by so many people...They will stay in the shade on my deck for a while which is fine...Their new "bed" isn't quite ready for them to be planted yet anyway.

Again, thanks so much!!!

Re: What's wrong with my nanners??

Years ago, I had some bananas growing in a store window. I took some to a flea market, which was held in the parking lot of a shopping center. They went from the faily brightly lit window to direct full sun, with no protection. That's when I learned that you have to do this gradually. Within hours, they were sunburned, but the leaves turned white, not brown.

J, I can't believe you have nannas outside. Daytime highs here have been 35* almost all week with 20's at night. You are colder zone being north of me. I haven't set any plants out at all so far.
I find that setting plants out on very overcast days is best time rather than couple hours in full sun or having to move them around.
