A single pipe jet pump can only lift water about 25 ft. Then the suction-pipe/casing may have a hole allowing the ground water to be sucked into the well/pump flow. ... Or, as already noted that steel pipe is very shiny and has not likely been in the ground for 22 years. A possible large well casing exist, the top below the ground surface (not good), with a drop pipe that is seen in the photo. The casing has a corroded hole allowing ground water into the well; OR, the casing seal has broken allowing surface water to flow into the top of the well. ... The last would explain why the problem is more noticeable after large rains.

My pump is inside the garage as is the tank, softener, etc...
As you know, we are thinking about a small windstorm coming our way this weekend, but I will do the test soon. Busy putting up panels and other such nonsense today.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.
