Question Too much soap?

Well to rid my banana of spider mites I put a good amont of dish soap mixed with water on it. I came downstairs to look and see the the progress and Noticed a few still alive and the outer portion of the p-stem on two sides has separated from the rest. Does that mean I used too much soap?

So the soap can sometimes cause the outer part of the p-stem to separate?
I noticed some more damage to the leaves. Does it take few days to be rid of the spidermites?

No, that seems to happen all the time. I've seen people (and done myself) use stretchy tape to tie the stem so leaves don't seperate from wind or whatever. Ususally chop them to keep it tidy looking but better for the plant if you just leave them.
