Default Sick Dwarf Cavendish

I am new to banana growing and have purchased a young dwarf cavendish. I transplanted it today but the leaves are turning black and dying. I live in zone 9a (southern az) is it possibly getting too much sun? I uploaded a picture of it to my gallery since it says it's not recommended to attach them?

Is it sunny enough in arizona right now to burn banana leaves? If so, I'm jealous.

I live in Costa Rica and see such damage caused by some of the birds here.

Not much you can do other than bagging the bananas. Netting doesn't help, they just peck the bananas through the netting.

Looks like sun damage probably, or just general stress. You could move to a bit shadier spot or just leave it and the new leaves will be aclimatized to the strong sun.
