Plant leaning, yellowing leaves, exposed roots
The title says it all:
I have several banana plants that are leaning, probably because I need to thin them out. For a couple weeks I have noticed some unusual yellowing of the leaves of my Loewe's (not) Ice Cream banana. I was not able to explain it first. All pups and all other banana plants are looking healthy and fine. Today I found out the reason for the dying leaves: the roots were exposed because the plant is leaning more and more. So, yes, I know that I need to thin the mat out and will do it. But there are actually 4 pups around the plant in question acting like anchors at each corner. So I am not sure if it would be a good idea to remove pups ( and risking the plant to fall over completely, mean loosing it) or to just pile up soil, compost and mulch on top of the exposed roots. What should I do? |
