Re: over or under watering??

I think more people over water than under water. Bananas can handle droughts.

Are these indoors? If so, why?

Thanks Erik,

I got these from as a TC in June and they won't be able to take direct sun until 2-3 feet tall. I was planning on planting them soon, but currently going through a heatwave of 100+ degree weather, so I figured I'd shelter them for another week or two.

Ok, I understand.

I would stop watering and see if it perks up in a few days. Probably won't need to fertilize it again for a month or two.

That is correct .... but those black spots on the leaves look more like sunburn from the radiant heat through that window/sliding door. They should not be in ANY direct sunlight. .... Filtered light, ok.

Browning starts at the leaf edges when being over-watered. Then the leaf turns yellow, then black. You have black all the way to the mid-rib & the leaf is still green else where (no yellow).... like sunburns.

Anyway, use a long stem moisture meter to check moisture level in the middle & bottom of the pot. Water only if near dry.
