New to banana growing, please help to identify what is wrong
My boyfriend and I got this banana tree 2 months ago. It arrived in great condition. Then leaves started dropping. I stopped watering it (the soil is still very moist) but keep spraying the leaves every day. The leaves got better for some time but now the bottom leaves started turning yellow. One fell of already. I keep a house plant lamp pointed at the tree for 12 hours a day and the plant is standing by the window but not sure it gets enough sunlight as winters in the UK are not great. Room temperature is between 19 and 22C.
Please advice what I am found wrong as I have never had bananas before;) Thanks! |

Too much water, I would repot it in some dryer soil. Make sure your pot drains well, this time of year the plant will slow down in growth or may go dormant. The roots are doing less and will rot if too wet too long, let the plant dry out between watering.

Everything Iowa said but I also am curious about the soil in the pot.

Was the banana in a pot or bare root? They can go through a transplant shock (roots disturbed, shipped in a cold dark box ECT) what you said sounds normal. All leaves wilted at the shock, then recovered, but some died as a result. No problems that I see here.
