It appears to me to be neither. Yellow and Black Sigatoka have a distinct fungal pattern of specks that start on the leaf.

Yellow Sigatoka:

Black Sigatoka:

Might be fertilizer burn?

lookin' ight... are you keeping an eye out for spider mites and nematodes?

bengal tiger nanas 11-10-2013 10:37 PM

Re: need help with sick sdc

hi justin, well i have been looking for spider mites, but what do i look for nematode problems?

jbyrd88888 11-11-2013 04:02 PM

Re: need help with sick sdc

Sorry I can't answer well. . . red inside the roots would indicate, nematodes are microscopic. . . I use pesticide on mine to prevent anything. . . You should be okay as long as you're using "new" soil (not used by others plant) but tissue cultures are suppose to be disease-free.

Re: need help with sick sdc

thanks justin.i use a soiless mix in containers.roots looked fine when i repotted in august.but pots were set on mulched ground. maybe i should check for signs of nematodes.oh, yes i do use new mix.tennessee nursery mix type.
