Default Little White Flies/Moths

I have what appears to be little white moths/flies all over all of my hardy Musa Basjoo plants. The more I notice, the worse my plants look. I am really new to this and Im no sure what to do. There is evedince (holes) all over the leaves that something is eating away at them. I am seeing tiny black spots on the leaves that I assume are where these flies are gnawing on them.

I have also found a couple black caterpillars that I have been picking off and getting rid of when I see them. I live in the St Louis area and we have had a really hot, humid, rainy summer.

My leaves are currently yellowing badly which I assume are from a combination of two weeks of non stop rain and also these little flies.

Are there any suggestions for getting rid of the little pests?

sounds like white flies and hornworms to me... for the white flies, you can use a soap/water mix. i usually just pick the hornworms, but i also use azadirachtin as an organic, systemic pesticide. post some pics if you can.
