Little White Flies/Moths
I have what appears to be little white moths/flies all over all of my hardy Musa Basjoo plants. The more I notice, the worse my plants look. I am really new to this and Im no sure what to do. There is evedince (holes) all over the leaves that something is eating away at them. I am seeing tiny black spots on the leaves that I assume are where these flies are gnawing on them.
I have also found a couple black caterpillars that I have been picking off and getting rid of when I see them. I live in the St Louis area and we have had a really hot, humid, rainy summer. My leaves are currently yellowing badly which I assume are from a combination of two weeks of non stop rain and also these little flies. Are there any suggestions for getting rid of the little pests? |

Re: Little White Flies/Moths
sounds like white flies and hornworms to me... for the white flies, you can use a soap/water mix. i usually just pick the hornworms, but i also use azadirachtin as an organic, systemic pesticide. post some pics if you can.
