Mine also has that white powder- just like Musa Cavendish. Just don't touch it too much, she is fine.

Hi Tropigal,
that must be, because you have a red thumb? - Aaww, really! (blush) It may well be some kind of (powdery?) mildew - or not. Be that as it may, there is a new supposedly bio-friendly fungicide on the market: Serenade Biofungicide - Growing Supplies - Compare Prices, Reviews and Buy at Nextag - Price - Review I bought the 32oz bottle of concentrate. It will last for a decade to spray my three Grapevines and the 4 clematis. Good luck, Olaf |

Don't cut the leaf off until it is no longer functioning as a solar panel. Follow the mantra of pitangadiego (Jon): green is good, brown is bad.
For fungicide, I recommend old-fashioned baking powder (potassium bicarbonate). You'll find it either in the no-sodium section of the supermarket or on the pesticide shelf at an independent nursery. Don't use modern baking powder -- that is sodium bicarbonate and will harm your plant. |
Re: Ice Cream banana problems
Thanks! Do I just sprinkle the powder all over the leaves and trunk? Work into the soil?
