Help! My Musa Aeae is dying
Hi everyone, I got my Musa Aeae a few days ago with the bulb and there seems to be no roots growing on the bulb yet.
I planted the bulb half-buried as i am concerned what it will actually rot. It is currently placed in a shaded area with a good amount of indirect light. The leaves are browning and it is getting worse gradually. I am very concerned that the plant will eventually die if it's unable to grow any roots soon and there's not sign of a new leaf growing. Is there anything that I can do? Pictures are in my gallery. Thank you for the help! |

I actually live in Southeast Asia where it is pretty humid here. And yes, I bought it online and it was shipped to me. took around 4 days to reach my place. I am freaking out as every single day it seems that the browning on the leaves are getting worse with no sign of new leaf growing. I think you're right. I just have to be patient and hope for the best. However, is that possible to cut the half of the stem and hope that that would encourage new growth? Or is this a bad idea since there's no root and the plant is still young? Thanks! |

Re: Help! My Musa Aeae is dying
Please post a current pic of the planted as planted to this thread. The pic I see in your gallery is a TC less than 3 inches tall & only 2 leaves (???). That TC should still be in a warm green house with controlled conditions and foliar feeding. .... That Tc plug should have been potted into a 3 or 4 inch pot with a quick draining soil and being misted every few hours in a greenhouse with 50% or 60% shading. TCs this size are not ground transplant ready and extremely difficult to grow outside of the greenhouse.
