Help! My banana is withering!

It was growing happily for 1.5 years, after that something happened and me and my GF were both watering it so at some point I think it was too dry or too damp. Then it started to quickly wither.
When I noticed that I took a closer look and found spider mites.
After that it got showered with soap to remove all mites and sprayed with insecticide so there are no more mites. I was cutting off bad leaves and edges. But it continues to wither, now all but 2 top most leaves look lifeless.
Leaves all become black around the edges that moves toward the center and die.

Please help! What is this and is there any chance of saving my banana?

This is an example of a lifeless leaf I've cut off:

This is another one:

This is what's left of my banana (only 2 leaves are healthy):

Soil:

A leaf, that has suspicious spots on it, but not dead yet:

Does anyone know what's going on with my banana?

Hi, how's the drainage at the bottom of that pot also is the soil free draining?

Hi All,

Thank you so much for your answer!

Very good suggestion!

There was no drainage (it's a so called self-watering Ikea pot).
It was supposed to have a water level indicator, but I couldn't read it lately.
Yesterday I've drilled a hole at the bottom and almost a gallon of water came out thought that hole.

So now it looks like that was the main reason, not even the mites...
Today it appears to me that the withering has slowed down compared to the days before. I'll watch it and hope for the best!

Too much water, your pot needs to drain well. I would put it in a larger pot and let it dry out between watering's. I don't think those self watering pots work well with Banana's.

Thank you for your advice, Iowa!
I've realized an over-watering was probably the cause of all troubles. I've made a good drainage now, and will let it dry before waterings. Also will try to find a larger pot, but I'm not sure how much bigger do they make them here in Sweden. Think the one that I have is almost as large as pots get here.

Don't forget it is also not banana season and it will show signs of stress, ideally it should be warm and outside but like you mine are inside or at least somewhere safe. Just got to get it through the colder seasons then come spring it will bounce back outside.

Re: Help! My banana is withering!

Thank you, All43!

My banana is completely indoors, as it has been last winter. It's too cold outside (night temperatures will soon be around 0 degrees Celsius).
But it's more or less the same climate all year round inside, except considerably less sunlight during winter period.
Last year it didn't show any obvious signs of stress in that setup.
I think, if it will survive next week it will be fine.
Two new leaves look pretty stable, with third one growing and on older one dying, but at a slower rate than the ones before it.

Re: Help! My banana is withering!

The process seems to have slowed down significantly now. I'm not watering it for 5 days now. The soil is still damp to the touch, and some mold has developed on it.
I've been removing dead leaves and leaves parts, and found some unhealthy colored tissue on a "stem" which I've also removed. Now there are only two leaves, one of them is very slowly getting yellow before drying out (previously, leaves were turning dark brown without any yellow and dried out much quicker).
I'm not sure when I should start watering it, but I plan to wait for a couple more days.
I've had yellowing leaves problem before, but that was solved by re-planting banana into a larger pot and giving some nitrogen fertilizer.
