Re: Help me! I think my plants is dying!
It doesn't look that bad...
Try to put some info ; location, type of soil, when it was planted, source, etc... As much info as possible. Update your location in your profile, that way we won't ask you again. I would go to the members introduction page and introduce myself properly if I were you... People here will appreciate. |

Re: Help me! I think my plants is dying!
I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself properly. I'm in Houston TX. I'm a novice Gardner, so im not sure of the soil. I added miracle grow garden to my existing when I planted 3 months ago. I bought at a local nursery (they are throughout Houston with the red and yellow logo).
I've been advised to just cut off the ugly leaves, but I planted 2 at the same time and the other is green and pretty. The only difference is the sickly looking one immediately had a 2nd stalk grow once it was planted.... |

Re: Help me! I think my plants is dying!
I don't think you need to worry. You have to give it time to get used to it's new environment. I'm guessing it's getting more sun than what it used to get. Next time, gradually introduce it to it's new place before actually planting it. New stem growing is good sign. It means the corm is ok.

Re: Help me! I think my plants is dying!
For the intro part, do it it the members intro section. You'll get better visibility. Also, take the time to look at other members pics. It will teach you how to take pics in a way that makes it easier to ID problems or varieties.
If you have questions, don't hesitate. Show pics of your soil. That's gonna help! |

looks like that could be a low spot in your yard, does it kind of puddle there?

Re: Help me! I think my plants is dying!
I see a lot of yellow patches in the yard, possibly from grubs. Could that cause the problem?
If these have been in the ground a few months, there is a problem, for sure. It's not sunlight after this long. Too much water or fertilizer would be my best guess... But, you said you used miracle gro when you planted 3 months ago... Probably not that...Too much water, or maybe those grubs... What third plant do you see Cinn? I see two bananas together, and something else that looks tropical, but not like a banana a few feet to the right in the pic. .Wait, do you use yard weed n feed? Crabgrass control, maybe? Those yellow patches...That could do it, too as all your other plants have yellowing. Sorry, thinking out loud.
