Help - Brown stripes on leaves...

Hi all- My banana tree was going strong, but now it gets these brown stripes on the leaves as they get older. I repotted it 2 months ago in dirt from a bag from a store, and have been fertilizing it with runoff from compost pile every 15 days.

Any advice much appreciated ! Thanks.

First thought was bug infestation, but I've never seen it in that pattern. ... Bottom pic, bottom leaf does show what appears to be bug damage. ... Spray the leaves with Carbaryl or similar top & bottom.

I agree with the other fellas.
More than likely some of your nearby potted herbs have them also

Wash the basil very well before you use it too.:)
