I just got a few plants yesterday and have potted them. They haven't gotten better or worse, but since these are my first plants, I wanted to make sure they are good to go. THe first 2 pics are of a Gran Nain, and the 2nd of a Dwarf Cavendish. The "peels" on the main stalk are brown and the plant has a few brown spots. Do you think this is normal since they are you and just shipped?
Also, looking for the right fertilizer, I read somewhere that Tomato Fertilizer may be good. I know the opinions vary as to balanced, or your preference, but I have some and the content is 18-18-21. It is a Miracle grow powder that is mixed with water. Do you guys think this would be a good one to hit it with 2-3 times a week when watering? |

As the old outer leaves die they will brown and then turn to a papery kind of well......a dried leaf. This is normal. If you already have this fertilizer you might as well just use it. Be careful about using too much though. As temperatures rise you can fertilze and water more.
