Fungus Gnat Infestation....Help needed
I’ve got what I think is a bad infestation of gnats. They seem to be in every plant I have. I’ve treated twice with peroxide & water combo. I thought it did the trick and then I noticed the bugs were still there. The bugs seem to be coming up from the cigar leaf. It looks like the bugs might be coming up from inside the banana plants. My one banana plant had a really nice cigar leaf that should have opened by now. Instead it kind of just shriveled up. Do I have to worry about the bugs killing my plants? Thanks for any help in advance......

Get some yellow sticky traps, you can get large ones on line. Let the plants dry out.

Re: Fungus Gnat Infestation....Help needed
Thanks! Will do... Weird thing is my plants kind of have been very dried out all winter long. So I don’t know why I’ve got this trouble. I’m also going to use some cinnamon on the soil as well! So thanks for that idea as well!

I’ve treated twice with peroxide & water combo.
They hatch when wet, the peroxide may have caused them to leave the soil to survive.

Re: Fungus Gnat Infestation....Help needed
You know I bet you’re right! I kind of was thinking that myself! Totally makes sense! So I better keep at it to get rid of them all. Will wiping them off the leaves with a towel soaked in alcohol help? At least to help to get rid of them off the tops of the plants that is. Thanks again for the help!

Re: Fungus Gnat Infestation....Help needed
I’m sorry but I never thought to show you some pictures of the bugs. I have like 11 pictures but I’ll show you just a couple. Do you think that gnats or something else? I did take a look at someone else’s photos of aphids and they did look similar to my problem. So now I’m totally confused!

Re: Fungus Gnat Infestation....Help needed
Yeah I just figured out that my problem is not gnats after all. It’s an aphid problem! So I’m going to use dish soap & water to wipe off the bugs. I also bought some neem oil as well. Plus I figured I’d still sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the soil just for an added measure of protection! Thanks again for the information & help! I truly appreciate it!
