Dwarf Cavendish HELP!
Hello All, Several months ago, I bought my first plant tree, a dwarf cavendish, and have had much success thus far in growing the tree. I have learned a lot along the way, and it has become like a pet to me, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
Background: The tree has lived indoor since I purchased it, and is under artificial light 12 hours a day. I water it about once a week as needed with a 1/4 tsp:1 gallon jack's classic water soluble plant food- water mix at a pH of appx 5.5-6. Everything seemed healthy until recently, there is one spot on the trunk that has me concerned. If anyone could identify this problem, nad lend some advice, it would be much appreciated. Dane |

Re: Dwarf Cavendish HELP!
Looks like rot (brown+squishy=rot). Not a huge issue, but it can spread if not taken care of. Take a knife and carefully cut out that part of the outer-most layer. If you don't see anything below, stop there. If you see more squishy parts, carefully remove the next layer. You only have to cut out the affected area, not the whole way around or anything crazy. If it's dry and not squishy, I'd just leave it.
Should be fine.
