Bunching?
 

Got this Truly Tiny and it was Perfect. The last three leaves, for some reason have no petioles! This is preventing the leaves from emerging far enough to unfurl. What could be causing this?

I get that on my dwarf cavendishs too often. I would love to know the cause?

Most Cavendish subtypes will show symptoms of "bunching". But to me that looks as if it got damaged & set back. Sometimes when I take large keiki they will do this.

and go to about the 24 minute mark where explains bunchy top is a virus which means you need to remove the plant, no treatment is effective for plant viruses at this time. it shows the pest which spreads the virus but double you have that critter where you are, unless you live in Hawaii. That said any sucking insect that moves from plant to plant could spread the disease. If this is a new plant it may have been shipped to you diseased, if it is an old existing plant I would watch it to see if it doesn't recover, could just be a fluke of nature and not the virus, so it may resolve itself. inspect under the leaves for small insects and consider spraying with an insecticide for that pest and has been approved for use on bananas.
if it is a virus then you need to dig it up and burn it on site if you are allowed to burn where you are. If not double bag it in plastic garbage bag and send to land fill, don't compost it you can't get the pile hot enough to reliably kill viruses. Don't replant there any time soon.

by "damage" do you mean something physical I should have been able to see? It looked really good when I got it.
Does this normally correct it self or do I need to do something?

Eeesh! That Sucks! I got it from a neighbor. I hope it's a bug and not the virus.

I don't think it is BTV. Sometimes when I transplant dwarf or super dwarf varieties they do this. i think it's something to do with the leaf growth pausing to focus on root growth. After 4-5 new leaves they will catch up and be normal. Super dwarfs are bad about choking anyway.

Thanks Tytaylor77. I spoke with the woman that gave it to me and she said all hers are healthy and she's never seen anything like that on hers. And like I said, it was perfect when I got it. I also checked for bugs and saw None! So, hopefully it reverts to normal after a few leaves.
I'll be watching and will post updates here.

did some more research and Dr. Nelson at the University of Hawaii sent me a bunch of links on bananas so I got to look closer and bunchy top. I noticed on your plant cutting on the leaves close to the stem which be caused by one of the cutter type insects or even a worm. Don't think it is bunchy top because I don't see any serious curling on the leaves, no chloroisis, yellowing on the leaves, and the new leaves look healthy so far. And I found out I was wrong about cutting, bagging and sending to a landfill. which is how we treat citrus greening. The extension office recommends spraying until you kill all the aphids, then punch a hole in the trunk then add undiluted roundup to kill the plant in place. The Cutting you see on the leaves is from me trying to pull it out at the bottom. I was only able to pull a little out at a time before it would tear. Sorry... I should have mentioned that.
I'll give it some time and see how it develops.

Definitely not BBTV or any other virus. The symptoms are very different and BBTV is not present in Florida anyway. This is often called "choking" and is common with these extra dwarf type cultivars, such as 'Super Dwarf Cavendish'. They are basically mutants of mutants and not selected for vigorous growth or production, just for small plant stature. I don't know the exact cause other than it's essentially just an off-type mutation, but in my experience it seems to be associated with stressful conditions or rapidly changing conditions, but also just happens sometimes. Corm weevils can cause a similar symptom, which is a possibility, but the fact that it's 'Truly Tiny' is more likely to me.

here is a pic of a cavendish type which was stunted by cold weather
it bunched up during the winter (less light was part of it too)
but now that its needs are met it is growing through the problem
