Default banana freckle or something else?

in the link I have a dwarf nam wah variegated banana that I got yesterday. the nursery said that the black spots are due to sun damage. is that true or is it due to fungal attack? looking for advice and thanks!

Good question as i have had similar problems and fin d it hard to believe sun damage - I have seen sun damage and it does not look like this at all, but then I have very limited experience.
