You probably have something else nearby that is hosting them. Your only hope would either be something systemic or some kind of fungus.

You might have to use a systemic like marathon or another imidacloprid, or one like acephate like bayer rose and flower care. At least you have a trap plant keeping them off the others, so you might want to just use it as such and keep spraying it regularly as an indicator of how many there are in your growing area...

Gumbo Limbo Spiraling Whitefly. I am quite familiar with it in at commercial office building properties I manage. What a nightmare. Luckily none at home yet. These are invasive insects that would die off if we would've had a cold winter like 09. No such luck. The only thing that worked for us are expensive systemic drenches at least every 6 months. This is not liklely something you will want to do with fruit trees.

LINK - Maybe this will help...

I found spiraling white fly today and they were making spirals on the fruit. Sprayed immediately soap and imidiacloprid

I have spiraling white fly on my banana plants and today I applied insecticidal soap. There are so many terrible pests here NOT only spiraling white fly. Leaf rollers are attacking my avocado plants and must spray twice a week for control.

I never in 15 years had any problems with those things “white flies” until my back door neighbor decided to plant bananas !!!!! Her lawn dude showed up with 6 plants infested with those darn things. I been using Neem oil on them and I remove any old leaves from the plants . I notice as the plants leaves start to turn yellow the flies congregate I been constantly fighting them for about a year. She is useless and will not spray or even concider it .. As soon as it gets cool they seem to disappear. Good luck!
