The author "The Civilized Jungle: Residential Landscapes of Sanchez and Maddux" Phil Maddux, Palm Beach-based landscape architect, has joined the board of directors of the Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden. “With his strong personal and professional interest in gardening, he will be a major asset to Mounts Botanical Garden,” stated Michael Zimmerman, board president. Maddux co-founded Sanchez & Maddux Inc. in 1982. The firm specializes in garden and park design, and landscape preservation and restoration, with clients throughout the United States and the Bahamas. Maddux and his wife, Silvia, are avid collectors of plants, particularly from the Carribbean Islands and Central America.
