Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Unhappy Trying to grow bengal tiger seeds... to no avail!

I bought a couple of bengal tiger seeds months ago off ebay. I also bought some saltpeter. I had heard from a youtube video that this stuff helps to break down the hard shell of the seed to help it to be able sprout a little faster. Supposedly that is! Anyway, I soaked the seeds in saltpeter for about 3 days. I then stuck them in potting soil and put them outside on my deck under the sun. It’s been several months since I did this and nothing has happened yet. I had heard that it could take a whole year or so to get them to grow. Is that true? How do you know if they are ever going to sprout? Are they just duds? Thank God I have since bought a bengal tiger plant that’s already pretty big! So if the seeds are not ever going to grow I’m still safe!
