Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Default seeds float or sink?

when soaking banana seeds, are they supposed to sink or float because i was told if they sink then they are healthy and if they float then they are bad

Hey Steven I'd go with that they are dry and take your chances. At the worst you will only get better @ germinating difficult seeds.. Then its all down hill. :^)

I've heard the same float/sink thing. Not quite sure how true it is...I had several that sunk and not a single one germinated

I recently had a an ensete germinate that did not sink so you never know.

Put seeds into a jiffy greenhouse thingy and used jiffy seed starter soil
