| Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

Today I planted some seeds I recieved from Rare Palm Seeds. They are Musa acuminata ssp. microcarpa (Monkey Fingers B.), Musa cheesmani, Musa sikkimensis, Musa yunannanensis, and Ensete glaucum. Hopefully I'll get some germinators out of the bunch.
![]() Has anyone notice there is no pictures on rarepalmseeds.com - palm seeds, cycad seeds, banana seeds ? Or is just my computer? I recently made some changes to it.

Pauly, good to hear it's not my computer. Must be a problem with the website.
No, I don't have a way of controlling the temps on the seeds. I just put them in some good potting soil and put them out in the sun. I guess I could put them in the shade. Why do you ask? Do you have some advice? I'm all ears. Wow, you really do have a green thumb, Pauly. Your seeds are taking off fast. My veluntina are slow going. I was debating on giving them some nitrogen. What do you think? What are you using for starting them, medium?

Dean and Pauly, I do get photos when I click on the seed link. They open in a new tab, so if your pop-up blocker is set too tightly, you may want to allow pop-ups from rarepalmseeds.com

That's what I wanted to know. I'll have to check out my pop-up blocker.

Well, I do get pictures in a new tab. But I am not a computer guru. Jarred or someone with more computer smarts will have to assist you.
Good luck! |

Really, I had no idea they were a little difficult to germinate.

Congrats on the new sprouts!!! Back when I sprouted mine, E. glaucum took about a month to germinate.
