| Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

Planted 50 - 6 came up so far - how long do you wait on the others
I soaked 50 Abyssinian seeds a week. 6 have sprouted, with the first being a foot tall now and they were in the ground about 2 weeks before they started coming up.
I read where sometimes it can take up to a year for germination, so I'll leave the rest for quite a time i guess. I'm in zone 7 and first frost is usually around November 5 about 3 months from now. I guess it's better to stick these that didn't sprout in the greenhouse before frost or would you leave them outdoors? Please advise! |

They need heat to germinate I think at least 70f
