Well Ante, I am off again to the jungles to see my Orang Asli friend first thing tomorrow morning. He says he found 2 new species of dracaena for me. I am pretty excited to see what they are. Will update you if I see any interesting 'naner species...:02: |

Re: Musa violascens Germination
Thanks for the update, Tog! Mine have only been in the box for 6 days. They did all eventually sink to the bottom after a few days soaking. I have mine on a heat pad, 14 hours on and 10 off. Not sure of the exact temps, but it gets pretty warm in the boxes. I use a mix of 70% coco coir, 30% perlite. Hopefully by this time next month, I'll be able to tell you about the great quantities of Musa violascens I have germinating! Thanks,

Re: Musa violascens Germination
This is an update after 3 months since the first sd sprouted. The whole box is crammed fulled of sdlgs and a rough count indicated 90+% success rate from the 50 sds. Since I have a couple of these plants in my collection, I will grow them a while and then release the sdlgs into areas where this species is found....well, unless one of them is a variegated one! :ha:
