Musa sikkimensis X paradisica
I was suprised by the first sprouting sikkimensis seed after only 12 days following a 2 day soak........ did the alternating temps 60 at night 80 day .. the ensete's I have grown took twice this long to germinate.. I did these in the damp paper towel method .. Thanks for all of the informative threads these really helped me alot!!!!!

Re: Musa sikkimensis X paradisica
One thing I forgot to mention is the M.sikkimensis X paradisica seems to be pretty touchy about transplanting too soon after germination. I made that mistake and lost a bunch, but alot of the survivors were doubles.
I also found that the temps were pretty low(high 50's to 80's) for germination, and the M.balbisiana seemed to prefer a little higher temps. The seeds aren't brand spankin new, just stored well. |
