Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Nope germination rate is usually low. My best results involved GA3.
I improved germination rate by scarifying the seed on a sanding block before planting - NOT finger friendly.
But the best production ever was just leaving the velutina fruit on the stem in the garden over winter - lots of sprouts the next spring.

you are right. This is the fourth time I have bought seeds and have only gotten four plants out of maybe 30 seeds. I'm sure I have to be doing something wrong to have such a bad average of seed to plant or is that just how it is?
