Helen's Banana Musa Musa sp.- Hardy Hybrid
Hi, I'm new here. and this is my first post. I use google translate too do with English, but this is the only forum specialized in bananas.
I live in Republic of Moldova and in our mild winter lately. I bought seeds and banana "Helen's Banana Musa Musa sp.- Hardy Hybrid" and so the seeds began to germinate, has been a month and a few days after planting. see the picture below And so the room temperature is about 20 C, night 18.5 - 19 C. This is minimal for germination? Banana will grow further by 20 C? Does anyone have this Helen's Banana? it grows quickly? Thanks for your understanding I think you understood translate, My name is George. |

Re: Helen's Banana Musa Musa sp.- Hardy Hybrid
This is a relatively new Musa hybrid noted for its hardiness. It will survive most European winters and is frost tolerant.
It incorporates Musa sikkimensis and 'Chini Champa' varieties and produces sweet edible fruits (containing hard seeds). It looks like Musa sikkimensis, however the seeds and plants are smaller. It will grow rapidly to around 3-4 meters before flowering. |

I got four different kinds of Banana Plant seeds from seedman.com. Helen's Hybrid, Royal Sweet, Thomson's edible, and Peekels. No germination yet. I just planted the seeds on 2/14/2015. I will post pictures if anything comes up.

Nothing came up Helen's Hybrid Royal Sweet Thomson's edible Peekel's Bananas I again purchased seeds on 05/25/2016. I'm still waiting. Royal Sweet Burmese Blue If they don't come up I want to try again. Maybe I will try a different company. I have had luck with different seeds from this company. I think the seeds need to be fresh.
