Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

![]() I have not had any luck with the Ensete seeds. I dont think they were viable to start; they seem to kinda have neutral bouyancy in the water before I planted them. I planted them in early September last year and not a one has sprouted... Seems like good money thrown out the window! Great job JaNan, they look like they are well on there way to becoming monsters. I f by chance they flower I would love to pay you for some FRESH seeds!

![]() I planted 20 Ensete Ventricosum seeds a few weeks ago. I was excited because after 6 days, one sprouted. Unfortunately, that was the only one so far haha I used a tupperware container sitting on top of my cable box.
The one that sprouted is doing well. It is working on it's 3rd leaf now. I'll give the rest of the seeds another month or so before I scratch/nick them. |

![]() Ok Cheson; just 19 more to go, and as fast as the first sprouted, you should get at least a75% rate do you think? where did you buy your seeds, if you bought?

![]() Remember to never give up on those 'duds'! I just found some seedlings after 4, 5, or 6 years....can't even remember how long ago I threw them into the discard pile of soil.

![]() I bought mine on ebay from a seller name Georgia Vines (?). The rest didn't sprout. So my ratio was 1 out of 20.
The one that sprouted is still under T5 lights. I'll wait a few more weeks before acclimating it outside. |

![]() Did the plants survive? I'm trying to grow some from seed. Did you use a grow light? If so, any insight?
