Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

sown 20 seeds. 2 grew and 1 died after a while. left with this one...

perhaps those are large pieces of fired clay. the mixture i use has components of that, peat, and large grained river sand.

if you're talking abt the orange bits, thats osmocote slow release fertiliser.

Well done , try and keep it alive :-) in your location perhaps you will get your own fresh seed at some point. If you do let us all know as they seem to be very rare here.
