| Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

Hi all,
I've heard that these seeds need some temperature fluctuation for germination, which is an exception among Ensete seeds. What would the reccomended fluctuation be, and for how many hours? Thanks, take care Pete |

I just had them on for the same amount of hours as my musa seeds, and 1 of 10 germinated. Hard to remember the exact hours on, but I think it was around 10 hours on 14 hours off.

OK thanks, and at what temps was that? Same as musa seeds, or lower? Thanks

I'm not sure what actual temps were, some thing between 60-90F(night and day). It was in my closet that also had a water heater in it so it was fairly warm through out, but not cooking hot.
Hope this helps. |
