Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Default Did I cook my seeds?

I thought my heat mat was cooler but when I checked temp today the soil was upper 98 or so. I've got Ensete Ventricosum and Musa Sikk. and a few passionfruit seeds going for about one week. Soil wasn't dried out (I have them under seed dome and baggies) but have sprayed once or twice to keep just right. I pull the EV seeds off each night (for 12 hrs.).

Are my seeds cooked / still viable? I'll keep on going but wanted to know if I may have set a few of them back...still learning. Thanks!

They should be okay. 80f is plenty for seed germination

Just consider how hot the soil gets, when the sun is shining on it; - and then relax.
