| Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

I found an easy way to clean seeds you might wanna try. Fill a zip lock half way with warm water and add the seed and massage the bag with your hands and watch the pulp come off. Tip sideways, dump out most of the water, and the pulp should float out. Refill and repeat a few times and you'll be done. My question is, how long should I let em dry before considering them "ready"??

Hey Nate,
Thanks for the tip... I will have to give it a try. As far as the seeds drying, I personally laid mine out on an old window screen in the garage and let the dry over night. The next day, I gathered them up and placed them into a ziplock bag (open), untill I packed them up for shipment. They seem to be fine, but I would like to hear from others about their experiences... Randy

I let the critters and elements have a go at these . I'm going to try to germinate some to see if this was a good method .
