Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Thanks Susan

Default Re: Banana Plant Seeds

They can be started anytime, I buy mine from Mark Davies seeds from the UK on Ebay. I have had 3 Musa Yunnanensis seeds sprout this last week after 2 weeks, and I have had seeds purchased from there germinate in the past also. There may be other dealers on here as well, but I have not bought from them yet. Some seeds do germinate better with temperature fluctuations though, I simulate this by placing my seed trays on top of a fluorescent light fixture that gets warm, and then placing the same trays on the floor at night. I am guessing the temperatures are in the mid 90s in the day, and in the upper 60s at night. I have sprouted the yunnanensis, and Sikkimensis, both plain green, and red tiger this way.

Do an open post......I WANT SEEDS>>>>>PLEASE...
Buy now...Start now.

Many seeds you might find are the ornamental type,,,,,,,but you never know ..

You should get some good responses .

BUT..... verify the seller if you can with other peeps in the forum.....if you wish.

Do not buy something from Cincinnana that will ship from
Liberia or Kentucky.
