Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

410 New Seeds In Today
Hi all, I have just finished putting 410 new seeds in. I am trying varoius ways and thought I would share.
100 Ensete - 20 clipped - 80 normal 100 Nagensium 20 clipped - 80 normal 100 Velutina 100 Itinerans - 10 clipped - 90 normal 10 Formanosa I soaked them all for 1 week and have put them in Vermiculite they are all in sealed plastic containers and are in my electric propergator with the lid off. Fingers crossed I will get a few. Thanks to all you guys for your invaluable advice, I love reading all your comments. 60 deg here today and blowing a gale. The first ensete seeds can germinate within a week, mine did, and i soaked them only 2 days.

Having made friends with a great couple from England I can enjoy your thoughts on this. They are lovely people and some of their words I have not heard for years. It is interesting to see how wide spread the banana "nuts" are.
