WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
I am doing a massive cleanout of my yard in Lake Worth, FL and keeping only a few of my favorite varieties.
I have many large clumps of various varieties that are going to be either taken totally out or seriously thinned back. I will sell mature size plants for $50, smaller for $25 and if you take the entire clump out, I'll make you a real good deal. Quantity discounts apply - example: I have an Ice Cream cluster with 20-30 plants in it. You want 10, make me an offer. Remember I will have to buy fill dirt to fill in the holes. This is in Lake Worth near Hypoluxo and Hagen Ranch and you must dig them out yourself and haul away. I have a bad hip and can't do that kind of digging anymore. Most of these clumps have produced fruit (although the cold Winter a year ago seriously cut back the yields). Most of these plants came from Going Bananas or from various board members over the years. If seriously interested, contact me and I'll provide a phone number so we can discuss your wants. I am retired and around most of the time. I also have a HUGE HUGE (get the idea?) clump of Bambusa eutuldoides 'Viridivittata' - Asian Lemon Bamboo that I need removed. It is a clumper, yellow with green stripes. This came from Tropical Bamboo in Loxahatchee about 5 years ago in a 7 gal pot for $75. It is now a clump about 10 feet across and over 30 ft tall. This will probably have to come out in pieces. Dig it, diivide it, sell it. Terry Varieties available: Those with * are smaller clusters with bearing size plants already cut down. Zabrina Ornamental - totally burgandy underside, green burgendy top. Ice Cream - large plants, huge clump Raja Puri (fav) Dwarf Cav - 2 varieties (fav) Praying Hands - large plants, large clump Dwarf Jamaican Red - take entire clump $100 Hawaiian Apple (tall variety) - take entire clump $100 * Dwarf Orinoco - take entire clump $100 Misi Luki - take entire clump $100 FHIA 18 - take entire clump $100 * Mysore - take entire clump $100 * Red Iholene - 1 or 2 plants (fav) * Lacatan - take entire clump $75 * Goldfinger - take entire clump $75 |

Terry, I'm tempted. Just got a new property in need of bananas. Not sure if this is a good time to transplant, thoughts?

Re: WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
Jarred,
YO DUDE Still Admin huh? I knew you were moving but thought that was a couple of years ago. I guess it depends on the size of the plant. It is the corm that I think would be most important. Not sure if transplanting a big ready to fruit plant would hurt it but you know the smaller plants will be hardy. I guess there is always a chance of a cold spell in the Winter. Hard to guess but at least you will have a couple years head start on a pup so if you don't want to wait and can get it home, it is probably a good way to go. If you want a bunch of stuff, I'll make you a good deal. Where are you living now? |

Re: WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
I was asked to post pics of my Red Iholene. They are not the prettiest plants but attractive and fruit is great. These were a couple of years ago and just before fruiting size.

Re: WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
Are you going to sell these until they're gone? I would love to get some of the varieties that I don't have and possibly the bamboo, but honestly with work, kids, school, and nursery I don't see me being able to come until January. So, if you're going to sell them til they're gone I'd love to be kept up to date so I can save my pennies Let me know! I'm about 4 1/2 hrs from you but definitely think it would be worth the drive. I might have to rent a Uhaul for the day LOL!

Re: WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
Hey Dreamin - I really don't see a problem with Jan. unless Mediahound decides he wants some. Let me know what varieties you are interested in and I'll tell you more about the size and quantity.
The MAIN thing I need to get rid of is the bamboo. Vicki says it HAS to go. You can't even see out the window it is planted in front of. If you took the time to cut it out in 12 inch clumps (like what I paid $75 for), you probably would have over 20 pieces. Like I said, it is about 10 ft across. Soooooo, bring a big U-haul, a power spade and several strong backs to help. Let me know your interests. I have only sold a few plants so far and no complete clumps Here is a pic of the bamboo taken about 3 years ago. Like I said before, it is at least 10 ft across now and at least 50% taller. |

Re: WTS U-dig mature plants Lake Worth FL
This would be a good post for Craigslist. I was trying to remove some bananas and posted Bananas, you take I watch. 3 guys showed up and removed in pretty quick. I think they were landscapers but either way they had everything needed to get the job done.
