Welcome to our classifieds section! It is here that you may post bananas and other plants and related items for sale, buy from users who have already done so, etc. Can't access a certain category? Send us a message if something is not clear. Feel free to post a new ad and have fun.
Hopefully this banana a lot of us grew up with is still being grown by some of our members. I would sure like to purchase some or even be on someones list when they become available. If you have any available or maybe you know where some are being grown. Let's not let this great old cultivar go the way of the Dodo!
They're being grown in Ecuador, under the cultivar name Seda; these are the Gros Michels that survived the Panama Disease outbreak back in the day. We no longer export them, because it was monoculture that destroyed the original Gros Michels - they're a domestic market banana now.
If I could export plants, I'd send you one, but unfortunately I can't. However, I think some of the California growers might have them...
I have what i've been told is a gross michel. I'ts about half the age of my othere varriaties. And it's all ready produceing pups. If i have some pups ready I'll try to send you a com. If you want it.
