Just drop me a note to make sure you're going to be home and I really will replace it for you.

Wow, that sure is nice of you, Terry! But I wouldn't feel right about it since it was entirely my fault. You did a good job of shipping them and both plants were perfectly healthy and vigorous when they arrived (and even after the first couple of rounds of abuse). Not to mention you were already doing us all a favor in the first place by buying some trays of Gros Michel to share with us.

I had thought about buying another one, but had decided that since my space is getting so tight, it might be a good thing to just have one right now. (Of course, the banana addict within me always thinks otherwise lol.)

Thanks again for the kind offer! :bananas_b

Bananas are tough, but they can be killed if you're persistent enough. I've found that if I receive a tc plant in the mail after it has traveled a thousand miles in a box, then do my best to shock it by scrubbing all the dirt off its roots and immediately planting it underwater in a solar furnace without allowing it to acclimate, it'll still flourish in spite of it all. But if I then ratchet things up even further by digging it up and moving it a week or two later, and then doing so again after another week or two, then there's about a 50-50 shot it'll call it quits.

The things are so tough that I'd almost gotten to the point of treating them as if they were indestructible, even as young tc plants.

I'll set one aside for you anyway and if the banana addict finds space then you'll have one ready.

They're all potted up and so far they all look good. The first shipment I got I lost a few, but I think it was too much water in cold temperatures. That was back in the winter.

This time I got Dbl Mahoi and Zebrina in addition to Gros Michel and they all look good but the Gros Michel are somewhat smaller this time. The Dble Mahoia and Zebrina are already putting on lots of growth.

I just took a flashlight out to check the root system on the Gros Michel and some of them are already putting roots out of the bottom of the pot. They have been getting morning sun also.

I feel comfortable that they're ready to ship now, but like I said, they are small. But with the roots they have they'll take off in a few days.

I received mine in the mail today. She and her adorable pup are already planted and resting nicely along side her two new banana friends ice cream and Mekong Giant.:bed:
When Praying hands finally is shipped and arrives my banana empire will be complete! Waa ha ha ha.......:2783:
Ok I think I am an addict, is there such a thing as Bananas Anonymous for bananaholics like me?:2745:
We have a frost advisory tonight(only in the Pacific Northwest in May) so I will plant all outside after the threat of frost has past. Or maybe containers I haven't decided yet will do more research on it I suppose.
Thanx Terry She's a beauty!:hiiiiyanana:

For those of you that ordered gros michels, they arrived today. They are 4"-5" tall and they have exceptional root systems. The roots are so well developed that some of them are being pushed out of the tray. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

There are still some available for sale if anyone is interested. They're $7.00 plus postage and my state inspector will be back next week to clear shipment into California, he did an initial inspection last week.

Re: TC Gros Michel

There are a few gros michel left. If I have failed to respond to any emails please let me hear from you. There were probably a few hundred response to the thread and I'm getting old and not as swift as I use to be. I did not intentionally fail to respond but I just got swamped.

I am particularly looking for someone that wanted to trade their banana bucks for a gros michel. Some of my pm's have dropped off the board and I can't find you. Please pm me again.

And if you are interested in having a gros michel, like I said before, there are a few left.

Terry
