anyways, a couple of months after this post i accidentally broke off one of my mystery bananas with the side of my lawn mower. i sheard it flush with the top of the ground, shearing the top of the corm. i immediately planted it in a 5 gallon bucket, with a cracked bottom, with some old potting soil. its still growing and i am wondering now just what i am going to find when i go to plant it this spring.  mystery banana; has a heavy raspberry flavor with a hint of banana. seems to be a bit of a Cameleon tho, the next time i tasted them they had a heavy citrus flavor much like a manzano but heavier. i got these plants from a friend who has many fruit in one large mat. i have looked at this mat extensively and the look like all to be the same plant. with the fruit looking exactly the same also.
