Welcome to our classifieds section! It is here that you may post bananas and other plants and related items for sale, buy from users who have already done so, etc. Can't access a certain category? Send us a message if something is not clear. Feel free to post a new ad and have fun.
I have 10-12 ensete maurellii bananas left from last fall, they've been overwintered in my cool greenhouse (50 degrees). Because of that, they are not quite as pretty as they were in the picture, some of the leaves have partially died back over winter but they are showing very nice regrowth now in the centers since the days are starting to get longer--with more red than in the fall, too. These are ranging in height right now from 18-24 inches tall, I think. They are growing in 4" pots.
The cool part is since they were grown from tc plugs late last summer, they are very stocky in the stems and have quite a headstart from new tc plugs. They will grow really fast this summer! The stems are around 1 to 1 1/2 inches across (diameter).
It's snowing here right now and I don't want to open up the greenhouse door again, but if this will let me change the picture tomorrow I'll take another one. If this ad doesn't let me change the picture, just pm me and I'll send you one if you want to see what they look like now.
I'm charging actual shipping on these-and no handling fees. So the package would probably be between 1.5-2 lbs and size 6x6x26 priority tube if you want one, so you could guess the shipping on it. My zip code is 47302.
Since I live in Indiana, shipping can be a little tricky this time of the year, but I've found if I'm sending them towards the south and it's around freezing here, they arrive in good shape if I use priority mail. I wouldn't send out anything unless you knew it was coming and then you could be looking for your package to arrive. Or I could even send it to a work address if the package sitting outside would be an issue.
Thanks for looking!
