I guess the big question is, shy did I post this here instead of "Other Plants"..

What's the deal with shipping to Canada, JP? Are there ag bans or is it too expensive? Do they need to be certified sprayed or something?

Phyto certificates my friend. We need those plus import permits for plants. So much trouble.

I wonder how many packages are actually opened and inspected. I ordered a $250 bottle of Logan Fils absinthe about ten years ago from Romania or some other country over there. It was labeled, "Therapeutic Anise Oil," ROFL. It was never checked by US Customs.

I could try labeling the box, "Wooden Back Scratchers."

Doug was easy to deal with. Shipped fast and went out of his way to make sure I got good plants that were ready to be planted immediately.
Would easily deal with him again!!!

Flying Dragon is considered a putrid fruit here and only used for root stock of other Citrus.

I have them planted under every window in my house, and putrid or not, no burglar is getting through them!

I now have several hundred to take to the gun shows as burglar-proof plants. I'll let you know how it turns out.

It's a mild deterrent compared to Kei Apple (Dovyalis caffra).

Grown here for the weirdness aspect, not every day you see any kind of citrus ish plants here at all, but they do have wicked thorns. I have seen them full grown in zone 6 north of here.

Flying dragon is a recurvafolia variety that interlocks branches from one plant to the other. It forms an impenetrable thicket that even bears and wild boar cannot get though.

You seem to have a ferocity against this plant for some reason, which is fine, but for those who want this particular plant for whatever reason, I have them available.

Nope. Occasionally people try to sell it as an edible Citrus fruit -- which it is not. I could see it as a protective hedge, although it is slow growing. The latter is one reason it is used as a dwarfing rootstock for Citrus.

It's a mild deterrent compared to Kei Apple (Dovyalis caffra) which is grown as a hedge in South Africa to keep out boars, lions, and elephants. It has 3 to 5 inch long hard wooden spines. I grow mine for fruit and thus have it trained on an espalier to avoid injury during harvest.

First of all, I started this thread as a resource for people who are interested in Poncirus trifoliata, v. Flying Dragon, for whatever reason they so desire. I have some, and if people wish to purchase some, I am the source.

Second, you have hijacked this thread not once, not twice, but three times. While I understand and even appreciate your apparent hostility toward this plant, there are many members of this board who disagree with you and would like some. Once again, I have this plant if they so desire to own it.

Third, your Kei apple cannot hold a candle to v. Flying Dragon. Please see attached photo. If an elephant can get through this, I will kiss your ass.

Fourth and final: I don't even like this plant! It's too dangerous to get close to. I have hundreds of these things coming up all over my yard and they are raising hell with my lawnmower. They are so tangled up that I cannot get through them without weed killer, which proves my earlier point.

So, once again, I am selling these plants because they are so lethal that I don't want them in my yard. If you hate this plant, that is fine, but please stop interrupting me on my own post, where people are legitimately interested in buying them for whatever reason they so desire. I have never disrespected you in one of your own posts, so please refrain from doing so on mine.

Thank you.

You might also try the Citrus forum (if you haven't already) -- many people there desire it for rootstock.
