Okay, who can help me out?!?!?! I am in the market for a M. siamensis. If any of you have a pup that you could spare, please email or pm me. I will buy, trade or almost whatever is needed to get one to add to my collection. Thanks in advance for anyone that may be able to help...

Stokes has them, Randy. Aloha Tropicals also has them, but it is more expensive.

Randy,
I might be able to help you out. I received one last year and it is already pupping. Mine should flower this year. |

Brent, I'd like to see some photos if you have some. It's been a while since I checked the wiki for this banana and guess I'll do that next.

Right now my 'Thai Gold' is only about 18" tall; I have two of them that size actually with a smaller pup coming along. Not much to take a photo of at the moment. There should be some photos in the Wiki from what I remember.

That would be great, Brent... Let me know for sure as soon as you can and I will hold off on ordering from mail order. I would much prefer getting something from a member here that I know takes good care of their plants. Email or pm me if you prefer...
Again, I appreciate your efforts on this, Brent!!! |

Corm is hardy to 24. Blooms fast like an Ornata. Above ground growth dies with a freeze. Comes back in March, and is blooming in May for me.

Thanks, Steve, I added it to the wiki. I may also be asking you for tips on heliconia one of these days if I ever find the time.

I got mine from Steve L and as you have seen he has posted about growing requirements. He has more experience with it than I do. Hopefully mine will bloom soon and I'll try to share photos.

On those pseudostems that didn't go down for the count, yes. On new growth, blooms by July.

Frank that flower colour is beautiful. I have tried god knows how many seeds of it and have yet to get one to germinate.
Its one of the many that are not available over here as a plant only as seed. MEMO......I need to move to the U.S ![]()
