Is that pstem and leaf underside purple? The shovel looks purple, too, so it must be an optical illusion. :)

I is a light grey almost white under the leaf....they have a waxy film on them that is what gives it the effect...they grow well indoors I grew the mom plant next to a south facing window and it did excellent. I'll post a pic of it too
