Default Caribbean "Platano" Plants

Where can I get seedling plants? I want true platanos that you can fry for tostones or maduros or some cold hardy equivalent.

I don't think they are cold-hardy but come winter you could attempt to protect them and see how they come out.. Where you plant them can help them too.. On the South -side of the house, and brick really tends to help as well.. :^)

I started growing Maricongos I brought from P.R last year and I do have a few large pups for sale. They are 100% Maricongos straight from P.R. great for Tostones, Aranitas and Mofongo. My Plant in about 8.5 feet tall and I think i should flower at the end of this year. See my other post for references.

I will add some pictures later when I get home.

Note:
Send me PM for details on buying Maricongo Pups.

Lowes has been selling ARH this year. African Rhino Horn. Started a mat with 2 pups - one from Lowes and one from Keith.

I would recommend planting several different Platano cultivars to see which grows best for you. I just finished eating 3 different cultivars, African Rhino Horn, Dwarf Cuban, and Maricongo, and they all tasted great.
