Default Blue Java Pups!

I have six Blue Java pups available for sale in a couple weeks. Presently the Mother is fruiting so do not want to disturb her but after the hands are deployed I will sell the pups. This plant fruits at about 10-12' of pstem.

I'll want $50 plus shipping per pup. I will mail on a Monday/Tuesday with 3 day delivery to the main 48 States. I will post up a photo of the pups in about a week so everybody can see their size which should be about 2' with three or four leaves. Send me a PM if you are intererested and I will get a list together. Plan to batch process and send everybody's out at the same time to save me time to the post office.

I started a thread called "Blue Java" where I fruited the plant and Smeash has fruited one of my plants so its the real deal.

I'm sold out of the Blue Java. Everyone that expressed an interest should have received a reply from me confirming your plant. Thanks everybody for your responses.

As I said in the original post, the Mother plant is fruiting so will take up to about two weeks for the bananas to deploy and for the pups to develop. The pups are about a foot and half tall with one to three leaves and look great. I will post up a pic of their development on Friday June 4th (weather permitting).

If a deal falls through or I have an extra pup I will post up that info. on this thread.

Donald

Looking good Donald! Seems my Blue Java fruit are suffering from the same issue you had last year. Turning brown.. not enough leaves to ripen them. You should have a slam dunk on yours this year with all those leaves tho! Congrats!!

Can you post a photo, I think I had this issue last year AND this year. All fruits turned black and died.

Sure thing Larry.. ill get one up soon. I assumed it was due to so few leaves on the fruiting stem. Akula had the same issue on his last season with just a few leaves as well.

Yeah, mine had one leaf after winter and then that one leaf got knocked out by a windy storm. Month later all the bananas died. This year is looking good with eight leaves.

I remember TyTaylor commenting a few years back that too much nitrogen fertilizer can kill off the bananas. The flowering plant doesn't need any nitrogen as the growth phase is over. Potassium application should be continued however. If the plant has pups maybe continue with 50% N until the pup(s) are a good size.

thanks, that's exactly what happened to mine. In discussing with Gabe he basically said "no leaves, can't grow" which we had a bad wind storm a couple months ago and since that all plants that had fruit did the exact same thing. No leaves, couldn't use water or transpire or whatever, and they all turned black and cut down.

Yea I agree with Gabe. worth noting however is i currently have 6 namwah bunches , all on plants with 2-3 leaves and those are filling nicely. My Raja Puri bunch has only 3 leaves, and I dont see any filling. Seems some varieties are able to fill and ripen with few leaves and some struggle. Im debating whether or not to cut the Blue Java fruiting stem down so i can start hitting the remaining plant on that mat with fert again.

First three pups are ready to go. They are a bit tall for the USPS medium tube box so will need to fold down a few leaves and possibly chop off the top a bit. These have been grown in the yard in full sun.
