Look at the size of this corm (scroll down to the bottom)!

They're much smaller than grocery store bananas, maybe 1/3 the size.

Here's a photo of one of mine blooming, taken last year:

Read and learn all about the Apple / Manzano banana plant in the wiki:

Quote:
This plant is seedless diploid that is rendered so by bearing sterile female flowers. It is not produced commercially on large scale but is usually grown in backyards for family consumption. Its sub-acid flavor is reminiscent of a cross between a apple and a very sweet banana, which make a pleasing combination. It must be allowed to ripen fully before eating. The plant is quite hardy and will not be harmed by temperatures that are close to freezing. If frost is allowed to form on its leaves they will turn brown. The plant grows 12 to 14 feet tall and is mostly green colored with just a light margin of red.
Please allow them to ripen fully! For best flavor, let them turn yellow, then still let them get some black freckles before you eat them!

This auction is for a very very large corm. It will continue to grow from the point where it was cut off.

WYSIWYG
  • This corm is what you see is what you get, an actual photo of the corm is in the listing.
  • It'll be shipped soil-less and without a container.
  • I may cut some of the top off to fit it in the box, but it will regrow very fast.
Shipping
  • Shipping should be about ten bucks to the continental USA.
  • I gladly combine shipping and pass the savings on to you.
  • If you're bidding on other auctions of mine, let me know and I'll gladly hold this till the other auctions end and they can all ride together (additional shipping fees may still apply when combining).
  • Hopefully soon we'll get a shipping calculator built into the auctions!
